Coastal Seafood Plant

Seafood processing in Karachi

Coastal Seafoods opened in 1963, initially among Pakistan’s first two major processing and freezing plants. It now serves buyers in China, Dubai, Egypt and Europe, exports over 200 containers annually and can freeze 40 metric tonnes daily.

Power and commercial requirements

The plant needed backup for critical processing and refrigeration systems during complete grid failure. Rapid delivery and installation, together with flexible payment arrangements, were essential. The location beside the West Wharf fish harbour required equipment suited to a harsh operating environment.

Generator and witnessed testing

The selected Cummins C1100 is described as a 1,000kVA set in the project specification. It provides an integrated system for standby and prime-duty applications. A Coastal Seafoods representative attended testing at YorPower’s UK pre-delivery inspection facility.

Delivery and outcome

The generator was prepared, witness-tested, loaded, exported and installed at the main factory within the requested programme. The customer reported satisfaction with the equipment’s performance and the commercial and technical support provided during delivery.
