YorPower Provides Backup Power for a Leading Chemical Company

Production requirement

A chemical manufacturer specialising in industrial biosolutions needed backup for five production machines after costly power interruptions. Following a visit to Sherburn-in-Elmet, the new customer selected a Perkins-powered YTP135RSC, with available spares an important consideration.

Supplied package

• YTP135RSC generator and manual transfer switch.
• 10,000-litre fuel tank for extended operation.
• Bespoke distribution link box with an individual MCCB for each machine.
• Labour, installation and provision for up to five metres of fuel pipework.
• Generator commissioning after positioning and installation.

Custom connections

Several large steel-wire-armoured cables could not connect directly to the generator. The specially manufactured link box accommodated these connections and separated the machines’ circuit protection.

Delivery and responsibilities

The process from enquiry to delivery in Greater Manchester took four months. The customer’s electrical team installed the cables. YorPower installed the tank and double-skinned steel fuel pipework and commissioned the generator, completing the equipment’s preparation for production standby duty.
