Multi-Site Generator Service & Maintenance for a National IT Service Provider

Eight-site generator estate

A national IT-services provider relies on standby generation at eight sites across northern and southern Britain. Most sets are around 500kVA, predominantly FG Wilson equipment with Perkins engines. The support relationship began before 2020 and continued through the transition from the predecessor organisation.

Planned maintenance and coordination

The contract covers scheduled preventative servicing, emergency readiness and coordinated engineering and parts support across geographically dispersed sites. Consistent maintenance standards help protect IT and communications operations from unplanned outages.

Controls and emergency response

  • Legacy controllers replaced with COMAP equipment at multiple locations.
  • Improved monitoring, fault diagnostics and integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Emergency attendance when generators became unavailable.
  • Fault diagnosis, corrective work and urgent sourcing of critical replacement parts.

Continuing results

The programme has returned offline generators to service, improved visibility and control of the fleet, and reduced disruption risk. The long-term support team retains knowledge of each site’s equipment and operating requirements.
