Bespoke 400kVA Generator Installation for Renewable Energy Company in Yorkshire

Site requirement

A renewable-energy company in Yorkshire needed a larger standby generator integrated into its existing infrastructure. The brief covered the complete replacement of the old set, improved operating endurance, easier cable connections and practical future servicing.

Custom equipment

• Canopied YWB400RSC generator rated at 400kVA.
• Integral bunded fuel tank enlarged to 1,400 litres.
• Cable link box designed for accessible terminations.
• Two additional MCCBs to accommodate dual supplies.

On-site replacement

The Projects team decommissioned and disconnected the existing equipment, positioned the replacement, carried out the electrical works and integrated it with the site’s existing installation. The package included supporting equipment and preparation for final commissioning.

Project status

The replacement increased fuel storage and improved access for cable installation and maintenance. At the time of the project report, commissioning was scheduled for the following week; the installation should not be read as a later commissioning confirmation.
